This was written a while ago, but the information in it is pure gold. “Strange New Teachers” shares their experience as a newly graduated art teacher, working as a long term sub. 

 

I subbed in the art room after I retired, and I can so relate to so much of what is in this post. 

 

Jan’s rule #1 for preparing for a sub:  Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  I.e., don’t leave them junky lesson plans that you wouldn’t even teach yourself. Give them more information than less.)
